Mallory History and Timeline
Mallory Safety and Supply has always been a family business. Mallory started as a small logging
supplier in the 1800's and, through strong leadership and thoughtful acquisition, we have grown to be
the leading industrial safety and fire distributor on the West Coast.
Avery Loy, the founder of the current Mallory, purchased FB Mallory, a logging supplier and
developed considerable industry wisdom. He is known within the industry for his forward thinking
ideas and his eminent reasonableness. Avery has retired, but is always a valuable resource with his
historical insights into the development of the industry and migrations of individuals within it.
Tim Loy, President of Mallory, has lead Mallory's growth campaign and has a pedigree that is
unsurpassed in the safety industry. Tim grew up working in the business during summers and
breaks, and went on to earn an accounting degree from University of Washington and a JD/MBA
from Duke, graduating magna cum laude. Tim prepared for his Mallory adventure by working as a
corporate associate at the Los Angeles law firm O'Melveny and Myers.
Since rejoining Mallory in 1999, Tim has served in various industry and vendor committees,
including with MSA, Affiliated Distributors, Safety Marketing Group, and supplyFORCE (currently
on steering committee), earning broad respect within the industry. Tim has fully self-performed
all aspects of the last nine Mallory acquisitions, while also involved at the customer level for large
Shawn Murray, a third generation family member of Safety and Supply, has grown up in the
safety business, as well. He has been on the board of the Safety Marketing Group and has positive
friendships throughout the industry. Shawn and Tim have similar styles and outlooks and they are
both committed to continual improvement and the highest level of customer service.

||Avery Loy and two family members establish Mallory in Kelso, WA
from the remains of FB Mallory, a company from the 1800's that sold
everything from silverware to steam donkeys.
||Mallory opens Vancouver, WA branch
||Mallory acquires Rain or Shine branch in Portland
||Mallory moves from Kelso to neighboring Longview, WA.
||Tim Loy joins Mallory full-time after working as a corporate M&A lawyer in Los Angeles at O'Melveny and Myers
||Mallory purchases distressed leading California safety distributor,
Brenton Safety, based in South San Francisco,.
||Mallory acquires second leading California safety distributor, California
Safety and Cleanroom Supply, based in Fremont, CA, and consolidates
operations of Brenton and Cal Safety.
||Mallory purchases Te Tech, a Fremont, CA cleanroom consumables
company, and consolidates into Fremont location.
||Mallory purchases Genesis Label, a cleanroom label manufacturer
based in Portland, OR and consolidates in Fremont.
||Malllory purchases BEE Industrial, a Hayward, CA industrial distributor,
and merges into Fremont location.
||Mallory merges with Safety and Supply Company of Seattle into new
drop-down LLC, with branches up and down the West Coast.
||Mallory acquires Palm Abrasive and Tool, of Portland, Oregon, and
consolidates into Vancouver, WA office.
||Mallory acquires Tualatin office of SL Fusco and consolidates into

Mallory continues to grow and improve to provide the best customer service possible. For example,
partnerships with companies like General Tool and SafeWare have allowed us to service larger contracts
and expand our territory. Mallory employees are adaptable to change and focused on customer service,
teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement. Every employee at Mallory is prepared to
make heroic efforts to get product to customers on time and in a short time frame.
